Golden

When I looked through my pics from our latest journy several of them could easily participate in this challenge. Actullay theye were all kind of golden, the sand in the Masada desert, the Dome of the Rock, the houses in the old city of Jerusalem, the inventary of the Grave Church.
But most golden of all was the domes of the Mary Magdalene church.

Longing

Autums is here, where I live it has rained all september exept from the past 3 days. It's days like today that makes it all worth it, we forget that the rain has poured down in buckets day after day after day. Right now I really don't long for any other place to be, but if you asked me a couple of days ago it would be an entirely other answer.
I would have said I long for the beautiful Blue Cave a little outside the Island of Vis in Croatia. I would have loved to swim in this cave, but unfortunately that was not allowed in the tourist season. We had to go in in small boats, the entrance was so narrow we had to bend down in the boat to avoid hit our heads. The light in the Blue Cave or Modra Spilja as it's called in Croatian is wonderful. It can be seen only between 11 and 12 when the sun shines through an underwater entrance and creates this spectacular blue color.

This is my contribution for this weeks Mandagstema at Helenes place.

A piece of my county

This is a little piece of my county which is Hordaland west in Norway. The photo is from the mountains in Myrkdalen near Voss. We climbed this mountainside last summer, very steep, but so beautiful.
We have a small cottage in the mountains, infact very small with no electrisity and no toilet. Here is the view that meets us when we open our door.
This is also part of our view, the milkmaids lived here all summer, Now the cows are gone, the milkmaids history and the cottage has fallen down. Soon it will be nothing left of this building.

Metal

Anyone have a clue what this is???
It's what remains of the railings outside an old house at the island of Vis in Kroatia. Even if the house is falling down I think it's really beautyful.

My partner wondered why I photographed this piece of scrap, but I knew it would come in handy sometime.

Heavenly in Split 2

I just had to make another contribution to Skywatch Friday. I think this motive looked even better in B/W. And look how the moon is balancing on the string. Cool.

Heavenly in Split

A glimpse of the moon behind the laundry hanging between the old houses in the town of Split in Croatia.

Feathers

This weeks theme is feathers. Not a very good photo this, but it is a moment I remember. While I was sitting on a nice little cafe in East Berlin in 2006 this little charming fellow came and ate my cookie. He was paying no attention to me at all, just enjoyed the cookie.

Heavenly Paris

Last week we spent a few days in lovely Paris, I was mesmerized by this wonderful city and enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Seeing the Eiffeltower by night was spectacular, Paris showed itself from it's best side and even the moon smiled.

This is my contribution to Himmelsk #80 and Skywatch Friday.

Fake your beauty

Yesterday I tried out a new, free photo editing program. It was really easy to use and have a lot of cool effects.
.

I tried it out on a photo of myself, a self portret taken about 2 years ago.I tried the makeup program and magically all wrinkles disapeared and my complection became much smoother. I wish this could be done in real life too.

I added on some rouge and mascara, brightened the eyes and changed the eyecolor a little. A little Frost effect around the edges a couple of butterflies and a frame and voila I'm a new improved woman. All in a couple of minutes.

Here is the program:

I also tried some og the effects, here is the Warhol effect. Cool.

Heavenly in Warzsaw

Last year in may I was on a girly trip to Warszaw. Lovely city, and we had a great time. The weather was absolutely wonderful as you can see from the pic.

For some reason this photo reminds me of the song Lily Marleen

Vor der Kaserne, vor dem grossen Tor
stand eine Laterne und stand si noch davor
So woll´n wir uns da vieder seh´n
bei der Laterne wollen wir sthe´n
"Wie einst Lily Marleen"

I like the German version the best, and that is also the original written in 1915. In 1944 the English version was made. Funny how this song became popular at both sides. Here is one verse of the English version.

Underneath the lantern,
By the barrack gate
Darling I remember
The way you used to wait
T'was there that you whispered tenderly,
That you loved me,
You'd always be,
My Lilli of the Lamplight,
My own Lilli Marlene

Himmelsk i januar /Heavenly in January

It's been a while since I've entered any post on this blog. Shame on me.
Frankly, the weather here on the westcoast of Norway has been so bad, rain and wind almost every day, not very tempting to go on photo safaries.
Lame exuse, I know. .

But the other day, 15th of january I suddenly took a glance out of the window and wow the sky was spectacular. Magic for me who has seen nothing else than grey sky and rain for months. The pic is taken from my balcony on the 8th floor.
